Natalie Anderson

Senior Designer, KPK Lighting Design

“As a kid, I remember always loving to play in the dappled light from the trees in my backyard. It made whatever scene my siblings and I were enacting feel that much more dramatic! When I got older, I was put in charge of the lighting for the local elementary school's plays. This was long before I knew lighting was a career. I think I started to appreciate lighting as an active effort then!”

From those early discoveries to an award-winning career in architectural lighting design, Natalie Anderson brings both technical expertise and creative vision to KPK Lighting Design. With a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder—graduating Summa Cum Laude—Natalie has built a reputation for blending artistry with precision.

Her portfolio spans a diverse range of projects, from museums and memorials to restaurants, hospitality spaces, and corporate headquarters. Notable projects include FAT Village in Fort Lauderdale, KKR Corporate Headquarters in NYC, and the award-winning 1300 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, VA. She particularly enjoyed working on a gallery space early in her career, refining the delicate balance of angles, placement, and light levels. At KPK, she found new inspiration designing the lighting for Ash and Alter Ego in Tampa, FL, immersing herself in the unique challenges of hospitality environments.

That first moment sketching concepts in Bluebeam when a rendering arrives from an architect or interior designer is Natalie's favorite part of the design process. It’s where she starts weaving light into the vision, setting the stage for what’s to come. Inspiration often strikes her on long walks, where she observes how the natural and built worlds organize themselves—a fitting approach for someone who understands how light shapes experience.

Outside of work, Natalie can be found blues and bachata dancing, indulging in what she calls her “grandma hobbies” (cooking, baking, reading, crocheting), or spending time with her adorable cat.
